UPDATED - 1st July 2020
We will be holding our starting school meeting on Wednesday 3rd June 3-4pm. This will be via Zoom. This will be an opportunity for you to find out about the EYFS curriculum and information about your child starting school. You will have received details of this meeting in your welcome letter from us.
*PLEASE NOTE : THESE ARE PROVISIONAL STARTING DATES AND ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE IN LIGHT OF GOVERNMENT GUIDANCE.*
First week in school (Mon 7th - Fri 11th Sept):
In the mornings, you are welcome to come into the classroom to settle your child. Please help them to put away their coat, reading folder and water bottle and to self-register. You can then help them settle to an activity set up in the classroom. Please collect your child from outside the office main door at 12pm.
Second week in school (Mon 14th – 18th September)
8.50am-1pm (to include lunchtime)
From this week in the mornings, we will lead the children in from the wooden gate of Rainbow’s outside area. Please collect your child from outside the main office door at 1pm.
From Monday 21st September, your child will be full time in school. There will be an opportunity to discuss this if school or home feels that your child should continue part time.
We are pleased to be able to invite you to a ‘Welcome visit’ to Rainbow Class on Tuesday 14th July or Wednesday 15th July. This visit will be for 25 minutes and will give both you and your child a chance to meet Mrs Baldwin (one of Rainbow’s teachers) and Mrs Macklin (TA). This visit is instead of the phone call discussed in the Zoom welcome meeting. Social distancing will be maintained between yourselves / your child and us and cleaning will also take place between visits. We must also ask that only one parent attends with their child. We will phone you shortly to arrange these visits.
As part of our induction process, we will be contacting your child’s nursery /pre-school / childminder to find out all about your child when in their setting.
We will be arranging a whole class zoom meeting on Thursday 3rd September at 3.45-4.15pm. This will be a lovely opportunity for your child to see and ‘meet’ the other children and to play some games together before starting school the following Monday. Details of this will be emailed to you at the start of the new term.
