Things to Look Forward to Jar
Use the craft instructions to create your own wellbeing jar. Having things to look forward to can make you feel happier and improve your wellbeing. Each time you think of something you would like to do in the future, write it on a piece of paper and place it inside your decorated jar. Find the instructions on the PDF in the ‘home learning files’ section on the previous page.
Learn a new language... Or at least 5 words!
Decide on a language for the day and learn the words for ‘hello’, ‘thank you’, and any others you want to know.
Tip: Give a prize to whoever in your family can remember the most words the next day.
We play this game as a warm-up activity in PE lessons sometimes, but you could easily play at home. When someone shouts out a type of bean, everyone else must do the action below.
Baked bean: crouch down into a ball
Runner bean: run on the spot
Jumping bean: jump up and down
Magic bean: freestyle move!
Build a reading den
Find somewhere cosy, snuggle up and read your favourite book.
Design and make a homemade board game and play it with your family. Take a photo and send it to your teacher – it could feature in next week’s newsletter photo gallery!
Act of Kindness
Do something kind for someone else. This could be helping someone in your family, drawing a picture and sending it to a relative, or simply paying someone a compliment. Doing something kind for someone else will make them feel good and you’ll feel good too!
In a couple of our recent collective worships, we have begun to learn some songs by iSingPop. Check out their website and YouTube channel for some more songs to sing along to. Remember to let go and enjoy yourself - sing and dance like nobody is watching!
